The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) Gives Green is pleased to announce its endorsement of 13 candidates for key positions across Long Island, including County Executive, County Legislator, and Town Supervisor.
“With the federal government actively rolling back environmental protections, the responsibility to protect our air, water, and communities falls squarely on local leaders,” said Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters. “Our endorsed candidates understand the importance of clean air, clean water and sustainable waste management for Long Island and are ready to take decisive action where Washington has failed. We are confident they will champion policies to build a healthier, more sustainable future for their communities.”
Climate change and the environment continue to be a top issue for voters at the ballot box. In this year’s Primary Election, 83% of NYLCV-endorsed candidates with opponents were victorious.
