Looking Back: NYLCV/EF’s 2025 Annual Report

We are pleased to share NYLCV/EF’s 2025 Annual Report, where we highlight the strides we made in the past year towards a more sustainable future.

As you read, you’ll learn about how we’ve continued to fight for clean air and water, to accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and to ensure New York remains a national leader on climate action – from defending offshore wind from a hostile federal government, to repealing the outdated 100-foot rule, to protecting environmental safeguards and empowering New Yorkers to raise their voices.

In 2025 we expanded our impact through the NYLCV Education Fund, which delivered more programs than ever before – engaging communities, educating voters, and elevating environmental issues across the state.

You’ll also read about the culmination of a decades-long effort to implement the nation’s first congestion pricing program in New York City. NYLCV has been at the forefront of this fight – through legislative battles in Albany, federal environmental reviews, and a series of legal challenges – while building the public support needed to get it done. The lesson is clear: congestion pricing works, and when New York stays focused on the long term, we can achieve big things.

“As we move forward into 2026 and beyond, we must not lose sight of the big picture: communities everywhere are feeling the impacts of climate change more than ever,” writes NYLCV/EF President Julie Tighe. “While the current federal government has stepped back from leadership, New York must step forward.  We have shown that when we stand together, we can deliver real, tangible progress toward a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient future – driven not by Washington, but by leadership here in New York.”

None of this work happens alone. It is powered by our members, partners, advocates, and supporters across the state.

Together, we can build a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable future for all New Yorkers.
