The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of the construction industry while fostering sustainable growth in the communities where we live and work. CIC strives to educate, influence, and advocate for policies and practices that drive economic development, enhance infrastructure, promote sustainability and innovation, and strengthen community engagement.
Our organization’s mission and focus continue to evolve in response to the changing needs of both the industry and the communities we serve. We are committed to supporting the growth of our members while also creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation of professionals.
Guest Speaker: County Executive Ken Jenkins
County Executive Ken Jenkins took office in January 2025 as the tenth County Executive of Westchester. Jenkins is the first Black County Executive in Westchester history.
As Chairman of the Board of Legislators, he passed legislation facilitating the conversion of the County fleet to electric vehicles. As Deputy County Executive, he revived and passed County legislation mandating electric vehicle charging stations in County owned parking lots.
Under his administration, Westchester has become a regional leader in sustainable waste management. The County’s RFSTD consortium brings together over 20 municipalities for a curbside food scrap recycling program. The new CompostED facility not only provides residents with access to a free anaerobic digester, but also educational services for the next generation of conservationists. He also helped develop County regulations requiring food service establishments to forgo dispensing plastic utensils unless requested.
Outside of his capacity in county government, he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Sustainable Westchester.
