Virginia Maloney

Virginia Maloney is running for NYC Council District 4. A lifelong environmental advocate, her passion for nature began with childhood hikes in the Adirondacks and has shaped her career ever since. At Princeton, she earned a certificate in environmental studies for her thesis on creating green jobs through federal policy. She later worked in Bolivia on solar energy projects, served on Echoing Green’s Social Investment Council supporting climate solutions, and earned a joint MBA/MPA from MIT Sloan and Harvard Kennedy School. Virginia has led outreach efforts for the Adirondack Council and Adirondack Museum to connect with young professionals and remains an avid park user and runner in NYC. On the Council, she will prioritize expanding green space and advancing sustainability across the city.
