Samuel Gonzalez

Samuel Gonzalez is running for re-election to represent District 9 in the Suffolk County Legislature. Drawing on his background in the waste industry, he has developed a strong record of environmental advocacy and remains committed to creating a cleaner, healthier community. Through legislation, Gonzalez has worked to protect Suffolk County’s natural resources—its parklands, waterways, and air quality. He has co-sponsored measures to safeguard county parkland, establish a regional recycling task force, and expand clean transportation options, including all-electric buses and new EV charging stations. Looking ahead, Gonzalez plans to build on this work by advocating investments in modernized sewage infrastructure to protect water quality and applying his expertise to advance Suffolk’s solid waste and recycling strategies for a more sustainable future.
