Peter Barber

Peter Barber is running for re-election as the Supervisor of Town of Guilderland. Barber has served as Supervisor since 2016. Under his leadership, the Town established a Conservation Overlay District Committee in 2025 to protect the Town’s environmental assets, the Helderberg view shed, and create a “green belt” around the Village of Altamont. In 2024, he led efforts to convert the town to LED lights, and preserve and enhance the natural environment through tree protection, preservation, and sustainable planting. Barber also helped forge new water municipal connection with the Town of Rotterdam which draws water from a recharging aquifer and reduces reliance upon water drawn from a reservoir, substantially reducing the cost of electricity and chemical treatments at the water filtration plant. If re-elected Peter Barber will be committed to environmental protection efforts.
