Olena Nicks

Olena Nicks is running to represent District 5 in the Nassau County Legislature. A longtime resident of the district, she has seen firsthand how climate change and industrial pollution have disproportionately affected communities of color in Nassau County, and she is determined to change that. Nicks is committed to transforming the county’s energy infrastructure by expanding access to solar power, battery storage, and other renewable technologies. She also supports major investments in water quality, green space preservation, and storm resilience. In addition, she advocates for a more equitable transportation future that includes improved public transit and financial support for residents transitioning to hybrid and electric vehicles. Nicks believes Long Island’s long-term prosperity depends on bold, climate-resilient, and energy-efficient development. If re-elected, she will fight to make Nassau County a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable place for residents.
