Lakisha Collins-Bellamy
Lakisha Collins-Bellamy is running for Yonkers City Council President. As President of Yonkers City Council, Collins-Bellamy has overseen the city’s expansion of its EV fleet, reducing fuel consumption by 40,000 gallons, and supported the development of New York State’s first fossil-fuel-free school. She helped launch Yonkers’ food scrap composting program, advocated for sustainable waste management and recycling technology, and secured funding for tree planting and heat mitigation infrastructure in partnership with local organizations. If elected, Collins-Bellamy will continue to expand green infrastructure, support sustainable building codes, and advance policies that prioritize environmental health and equity citywide.
