Kelly Hoffman is running for re-election for Rensselaer County Legislator.

Kelly Hoffman is running for re-election for Rensselaer County Legislator. First appointed in 2013 and currently serving as Chairwoman of the Legislature, Hoffman has a strong record of leadership on community development, sustainability, and responsible governance. She has overseen major environmental initiatives, including improvements at the county’s wastewater treatment plant that harness renewable energy and methane capture systems, while advancing a $20 million investment in modern energy-efficient aeration blowers and flood-resilient backup power. Hoffman has championed clean water access by securing funding to extend municipal water to PFAS-impacted communities in Poestenkill, Algonquin Middle School, and along Route 9 in Schodack, while continuing efforts to address contamination at the Dewey Loeffel Landfill Superfund site. She has advocated for stricter air quality monitoring, and fought to preserve the historic Martin Dunham Reservoir. Hoffman has also promoted sustainable transportation and recreation by supporting the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail, the proposed Troy-Rensselaer Bike-Walk Trail, and the creation of a new county park along the Moordener Kill. If re-elected, Hoffman will continue to advance clean energy, protect natural resources, expand safe water access, and invest in resilient, sustainable infrastructure for the people of Rensselaer County.
