Thomas Grant is running for re-election for Rensselaer County Legislator.

Thomas Grant is running for re-election for Rensselaer County Legislator. Since first being elected in 2018 he has worked to advance practical, community-focused environmental solutions, including overseeing major improvements at the county’s wastewater treatment plant. Grant has supported efforts to expand bike and pedestrian trails, including the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail and the proposed Troy-Rensselaer Bike-Walk Trail, as well as initiatives to extend clean water access to communities impacted by PFAS contamination. Grant has strongly opposed environmentally harmful projects and has advocated for greater state oversight of air quality to protect families and children. In addition, he has advanced conservation efforts such as preserving the Martin Dunham Reservoir, supporting the Papscanee Island Nature Preserve, and creating new county park spaces. If re-elected, Grant will continue to build on this record by pursuing policies that strengthen clean water infrastructure, expand renewable energy use, protect natural resources, and ensure a sustainable future for Rensselaer County.
