Steve Flottern

Steve Flottern is running for re-election for Suffolk County Legislature in District 11. During his time in office, Flottern has led numerous environmental initiatives in Islip, from launching the town’s first pump-out boat and restoring Penataquit Creek to expanding aquaculture and promoting public education on recycling and pollution prevention. Flottern has supported legislation in the past that helps the county move toward electric vehicles used for municipal business. Flottern strongly supports education on how to build, install, and repair solar panels and is looking for ways to make the county more energy efficient without adding any additional costs to taxpayers. He is willing to increase education on waste management, and ensure waste management procedures are affordable and sustainable. If re-elected, Steven Flotteron will continue to work to improve the environmental issues that impact Suffolk County.
