Viviana Russel

Viviana Russel is running to represent District 2 in the Nassau County Legislature. During her time as a councilmember of District 1, North Hempstead was designated as the lead agency for the Long Island Cleaner, Greener Communities and Regional Sustainability Plan. This initiative secured funding from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to develop a regional sustainability plan for Long Island. Russel played an integral role in implementation of Westbury’s “Yes We Can” Community Center, which incorporates numerous green technologies, including rooftop solar panels and electric charging stations. Beyond this, she helped implement innovative home retrofit solutions and introduced legislation to establish environmental performance standards in industrial zones, particularly those located near residential communities. If elected, Russel will continue her commitment to environmental sustainability and public health in Nassau County.
