Thomas McKevitt is running for re-election as legislator of Nassau County’s 13th district.

Thomas McKevitt is running for re-election for Nassau County Legislator in District 13. McKevitt has spent twenty years in public service, serving twelve years in the New York State Assembly, and was elected in 2017 to the Nassau County Legislature and serves as the chair of the Finance Committee. During his time in the State Assembly, McKevitt supported increasing the Environmental Protection Fund, the Child Safe Products Act, and the constitutional amendment for clean air and water for all New Yorkers. Since being elected to the County Legislature in 2017, he has supported the Sustainable Energy Loan Program, expanded renewable energy programs, and voted to adopt the Climate Smart Communities pledge. In regards to building efficiency, McKevitt voted in favor of the Commercial Property Sustainable Energy Loan Program to provide financing to local businesses to fund renewable energy systems. McKevitt is also a strong advocate of solar energy. If re-elected, Thomas McKevitt will continue his positive involvement in multiple different environmental areas that are essential to the future of the county.
