Dr. Richard Becker

Dr. Richard Becker is running for re-election as the Cortlandt Town Supervisor. During his time as a Councilman in Cortlandt the town purchased 100+ acres, which are now preserved. As Supervisor, he has worked hard to promote sustainability including installing solar/wind turbines at Townhall that light the entire parking lot, and approved multiple EV charging stations throughout the town. Additionally, the town has continued investing in wastewater treatment upgrades, is addressing flooding and the rising sea level issues and building natural buffers and a living shoreline. If re-elected, he will continue to fight for the environment and advance sustainability initiatives including building a curbside compost pickup so that the majority of the town’s garbage can be recycled and not burned.
