Doug Dittko For Brookhaven Town Council

As a long-time community and civic leader, Doug Dittko has an impressive track record of protecting open space and fighting overdevelopment in the Town of Brookhaven. He facilitated the purchase of development rights for 82 acres of farmland in Manorville (one of the largest such transactions in town history) and helped prevent the construction of 25 homes on a contaminated property near the Manorville composting site. As former chairman and a current member of the town Planning Board, Dittko has also worked to ensure responsible development that takes community needs into account.

Pete Harckham For State Assembly

The New York League of Conservation Voters, which works to make environmental sustainability a top political and policy priority in New York State, has endorsed Pete Harckham for Assembly in District 89, which includes the Westchester County towns of Bedford, Mt. Kisco, Lewisboro, Pound Ridge, New Castle, North Castle, Harrison and part of White Plains. A special election will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 9 to fill the Assembly seat vacated by Adam Bradley, who was elected recently mayor of White Plains.
