With more PAC dollars available to spend on behalf of state legislative candidates (see Albany Times Union op-ed, "Lawmakers are Failing the Environment" [1]), NYLCV has committed $25,000 to elect Susan Zimet [1] for State Senate.

Zimet, a county legislator and two-term town supervisor, is running in district 42, which includes Delaware, Sullivan, and portions of Ulster and Orange Counties.
NYLCV has channeled its Zimet support to fund direct mail efforts, phone calls to over 7,000 voters who have been identified as dedicated conservation voters, and campaign contributions.
NYLCV has taken out newspaper ads in three editions of the Oneonta Daily Star (Nov. 1, 3, 4) and the Middletown Times Herald Record (Nov. 1, 3, 4). [3]Vote Zimet Ad
This is the first time NYLCV has ever invested in a state legislative race to this magnitude, and it expects to replicate this effort in future elections.
