Susan Zimet is running for State Senate for the district including
Delaware, Sullivan, and portions of Ulster and Orange Counties. A
county legislator and two-term town supervisor, she is an experienced,
energetic leader who stands for sensible, planned growth.

SUSAN ZIMET'S LEADERSHIP WILL BRING:

• Fewer devastating effects from floods on our homes and our pocketbooks. Zimet supports a bill allowing municipalities to choose to band together to plan for such hazards regionally, an idea that has languished in the Legislature.

• The preservation of our wetlands - nature's storm drains - which protect us from damaging floods. Zimet endorses a bill for clean water and flood protection that has also languished.

• Support for sustainable local agriculture and forestry, while ensuring against haphazard sprawl. Zimet endorses giving tax breaks to local landowners who voluntarily agree to preserve farms and forests, rather than being forced to sell family lands.
