New Greenway For Suffolk County

Another greenway is in the offing for Long Island, thanks to an agreement between Suffolk County and the Long Island Power Authority [1]

(photo courtesy LIBN)Aided by $2 million in federal dollars, the county and the authority will fashion a hiking and biking trail along LIPA property and the abandoned Long Island Rail Road track from Port Jefferson to Wading River, the Long Island Business News [2] reported.

"Finalizing Rails-to-Trails is a great way to start the new year," Suffolk County Legislator Daniel Losquadro [3], R-Shoreham, told the newspaper.  "This deal has been a long time coming."
