The Journal News [1] reports that a free two-day conference [2] will take place in Yonkers this weekend focusing on ways the city and its residents can adopt a smaller carbon footprint.
The Yonkers Green Conference and Trade Fair, to be held at the Riverside Branch of the city's public library, will host speakers and seminars covering global warming, grant writing, sustainable building and energy efficiency upgrades, among other topics. The Yonkers Green Policy Task Force [3], organizer of the event, hopes to educate residents on ways to green their homes and neighborhoods while teaching the community how tap into available state funding for improvements through grant writing.
