Westchester County is setting a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent in the next seven years and 80 percent by 2050 says an article in the AM New York newspaper [1].
The Westchester county task force on global warming issued a plan [2]. They even started their own website which details recommendations for households, schools, and businesses. Most of the recommendations however, are a bit repetitive like the use of compact fluorescent light bulbs, easier, flexible, and fuel efficient, low emission motor vehicles.
Though the message lacked in authority and glamour County Executive Andrew Spano [3] said that he hoped the plan would mobilize a broad effort and make a substantial change possible.
