With global issues being the way they are, New York state came up with a plan to help with this global problem. According to the Ithaca Journal [1] , New York would rely more on wind, solar and other renewable energy sources while adopting new conservation measures, under a proposal released Monday.

Lt. Gov. David Paterson was recommended a deal to build a solar energy manufacturing plant in the Hudson Valley. The Prism Solar Technologies, Inc. [2] estimates that to build a research and development plant in Ulster County would cost $1.5 million. This new project is said to create an estimate of 140 jobs in three years and more than 400 jobs in five years.

According to Paterson, "With the world's climate changing and traditional dirty energy sources causing geopolitical instability, these recommendations will put New York on a path to become part of a global solution."
