An Island based non-profit organization, a state senator and a local businessman recently donated $256,200 to help enhance the quality of life for various Staten Islanders [1].

There were 15 non-profit organizations presented with $101,600 by the Richmond County Savings Foundation [2] founded in 1998 as a conversion to the Richmond County Savings Bank [3]. The Richmond County Savings Foundation also gave $51,000 to the College of Staten Island [3] , which is declared to go to Visiting Scholar in public affairs position and the remaining $1,000 going toward the Staten Island Leadership Institute.

To date, the foundation has provided over $32 million in funding to not-for-profit organizations serving the foundation's communities.
