County Executive Andy Spano [1]'s Task Force on Global Warming will announce details of its comprehensive environmental action plan later this month.
The task force [2] -- comprised of more than 100 professionals representing various stakeholders and communities -- will share its detailed short- and long-term recommendations on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at Manhattanville College [3]'s Reid Castle in Purchase. The results will be announced as part of a day-long event with workshops, break-out sessions and panel discussions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Among the task force's goals are to identify actions to achieve climate change-related goals in each sector, and recommend a sustainable development program to reduce energy and water consumption, improve air and water quality and reduce solid waste.
