Senator. Vice President. Oscar Winner. Now Al Gore can add Nobel Peace Prize Winner to his litney of titles.
Awarded today in Oslo, Mr. Gore and the UN's Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change [1] received the Nobel Peace Prize, the world's most prestigious award, for their work to address the threat of global warming.

When recieving the news Mr. Gore said that he was "deeply honored to recieve the award." He plans to donate half of the prize money ($1.5 million) to the Alliance For Climate Protection [2].
Represenatatives from the Nobel Prize Commitee said that they chose Gore and the committee "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change."
Some think that winning this award will push Gore to run for President in 2008. Mr. Gore rejected that notion. As if he needs another title.
