Absentee ballots made the difference to Lucille McKnight [1], a Democrat who was seeking re-election to represent the 2nd District in the Albany County Legislature. After initially being down by three votes -- she had 253 votes, compared with 256 votes for Lester Freeman, according to unofficial results -- McKnight was pronounced victorious last week. Since McKnight has no Republican challenger, she is guaranteed to return for a fifth term.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul FeinerGreenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner [2] got a green light toward starting his fifth term in that Westchester County municipality, after his victory over Suzanne Berger in the Democratic primary.

Yonkers Mayor Phil AmiconeYonkers Mayor Phil Amicone [3] handily won the Republican primary over former City Council President Vincenza Restiano, taking roughly 70 percent of the vote.

Albany County Legislator Sandy GordonFinally, Alexander "Sandy" Gordon [4] also advanced in his re-election bid for the 39th District in the Albany County Legislature, following a win over challenger Paul Crosier in the Democratic primary.
