With more New Yorkers pedaling to work, the city's Department of Transportation plans to double its bike lanes.
Currently, there are 200 miles of lanes reserved for the two-wheelers, and the city will add 200 more. Despite community objections, the lanes are planned for the Lower and Upper East Sides.
This is part of PlaNYC [0]'s push to complete the city's Bike Master Plan. [1]
