Rep. Steve Israel brought an additional $100 million to the Weatherization Assistance Program. [1] The extra 'green' will make low-income Long Islander's home more energy efficient and therefore reduce their energy bills.

The funding goes to the Appropriations Committee and is expected to pass in Congress this week, despite President Bush's threat to veto all appropriations bills.
