Ms. Sussman has extensive litigation and arbitration experience over several decades of legal practice. She started her career as a litigation associate and then partner and associate at a prominent international law firm. Now a full time arbitrator and mediator, over the past 15 years she has served as the arbitrator or mediator in over 100 domestic and international disputes and serves on leading ADR panels including those administered by the AAA, ICDR, CPR and FINRA.
Ms. Sussman has been a leader on energy, environment and green building issues in her work. As executive director of the Federated Conservationists of Westchester County she oversaw work with a broad mandate that covered water, air, land and energy issues. She has written and spoken extensively about dispute resolution in energy and environmental matters and has been in the forefront in promoting greater utilization of alternative dispute resolution to resolve such disputes. She has been particularly active in addressing the many issues that arise in connection with the responses to climate change and the drive towards energy security, including green buildings, energy efficiency, carbon and REC trading, renewable energy, cogeneration, demand response, and adaptation strategies including water, energy and land use solutions.
