He needs all the support he can get right now. And we've made it easy for you [1] to let the bigwigs up in Albany know that New York needs a DEC commissioner right now, and that Alexander "Pete Grannis" is highly qualified for the post. 

Why is this such a big deal?

Of course, it's never good when a state doesn't have an environmental watchdog.  But there's another, often overlooked point to keep in mind: There are scarce federal enviro dollars available that states compete for, and without a DEC head, New York is now at a competitive disadvantage for getting those funds. Those are important dollars that we need.

So let Senators Marcellino and Bruno know [2] that it's time to move the Grannis nomination to a vote and to approve him as New York's next DEC commissioner.
