04/16/2007 - 10:00am
Body:

Please join us for our annual Capital District Eco-Breakfast at the Fort Orange Club [1] in downtown Albany.

This year we are honoring:

  • Galesi Group [2] for their innovative vision in creating the brownfield redevelopment project College Park in Schenectady; and
  • Jerry Cosgrove, Deputy Commissioner of New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, for his commitment to farmland conservation and agricultural economic development; and
  • John Hedley for his efforts to change the face of downtown Troy through his many rehabilitation projects. His philosophy is "why go out in suburbia and take green space and put up new buildings when you could recycle the buildings that you have."

U.S. Representative Kirsten Gillibrand [3], who was recently elected to represent New York's 20th Congressional District, will deliver the keynote address and discuss the need to advance regional economic development and environmental sustainability.
