A proven record of environmental achievement
PEEKSKILL --- The New York League of Conservation Voters, the only statewide organization that uses the power of endorsements to elect environmental leaders, today announced our support of
Sandy Galef in the
95th Assembly District in the Hudson Valley. The announcement was made at the Peekskill Riverfront Green, with a stunning backdrop of the Hudson River.
NYLCV's Westchester Chapter Chair Nanette Bourne announces our support of Sandy Galef in Peekskill."We at the League have worked closely with Sandy for many years, and when we call, she has been there for us to collaborate on issues like renewable energy, sustainable transportation and clean air and water," said NYLCV's Westhchester Chair Nanette Bourne.
In 2012, Assembly Member Galef played a very important role in advancing the League's top legislative priorities by co-sponsoring:
- The Sewage Pollution Right To Know Act, which requires the public and state and local health authorities to be quickly notified whenever a sewage spill takes place.
- The Solar Jobs Act of 2012, which seeks to dramatically ramp-up the amount of solar energy installed in New York.
- Legislation that would close a loophole and ensure that waste from natural gas drilling are properly classified as hazardous.
Bourne added: "NYLCV is glad to lend our support in Sandy Galef's re-election bid, and we encourage anyone in the 95th Assembly District who cares about clean water and air - and anyone who believes New York deserves a clean-energy future - to vote for Sandy Galef on November 6th."
