A wealth of experience in the nonprofit,
transportation and sustainability sectors
The Board of Directors of the New York League of Conservation Voters has unanimously named Kevin S. Corbett as new chairman.
Kevin S. CorbettWith extensive experience in transportation, government and nonprofit organizations, Corbett takes over the top board spot from Robert M. Hallman. Earlier this year, Hallman was named Gov. Cuomo's new Deputy Secretary for Energy and Environment -- the top policy position on these issues in the state.
Corbett has been a member of the NYLCV Board for several years, most recently serving as Treasurer. He is currently Vice President for Strategic Development at AECOM, a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, water and government.
Corbett also serves on a wide range of nonprofit boards, including the Regional Plan Association, Tri-State Transportation Campaign, Empire State Transportation Alliance and the Maritime Association of the Port of New York & New Jersey.
Corbett was previously Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at the Empire State Development Corporation and Executive Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Economic Development. He also spent 17 years at Wilhelmsen Lines, Norway's largest shipping line.
Corbett takes the helm at an exciting time for NYLCV, which expects to ramp up its electoral activities this year to elect environmental leaders to the State Senate and Assembly.
