Fighting for a greener,
stronger future for New York
Primary Day is fast approaching and NYLCV's political operation just shifted into higher gear.
A few weeks back, NYLCV announced our full slate of endorsements for the 2010 state legislative and congressional races. Now, we're rolling up our sleeves for some serious campaign work in two high-priority races that will be decided on Primary Day on Tuesday, Sept. 14. We'd also like to ask for your help to make our campaigns as strong and effective as possible.
Tom Abinanti is running for Assembly in the 92nd District in Westchester County for a seat being vacated by Richard Brodsky. As chair of the County Legislature's Environment Committee, Tom has amassed an impressive record of accomplishments for the environment, particularly when it comes to fighting pollution that harms the Hudson River and protecting open space. Tom also has a robust plan for bringing more clean energy to New York to clear our air, create jobs and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Sam Hoyt represents the 144th Assembly District in North Buffalo and Grand Island. Sam has been a longtime champion for the environment in Albany, and was instrumental in passing a key sustainable development bill this year. Thanks to Sam's Historic Restoration Tax Credit, renovations are also far more affordable for many homeowners, keeping downtown areas more vibrant and sustainable.
NYLCV has been phone banking for Tom and Sam for weeks, and now our first mailers are about to hit voters in their districts:
New York's environment needs effective leaders -- and we need your help getting them elected. Please contribute today! This first batch of mailers will be hitting voters within days, but with your help, we can increase the number of voters who will be reached and increase turnout for these environmental champions. Your contribution of $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can afford will go directly to our campaign to elect these pro-environment leaders. Thank you for your support!
