Help elect environmental champions on Nov. 3
NEW YORK --- The New York League of Conservation Voters works to make environmental sustainability a top political and policy priority in New York State. Its political action committee, Climate Action PAC, is working overtime on two priority races for the Nov. 3 general elections:
Janine Materna is running for a seat on the New York City Council to represent the 51st District on Staten Island. She's got a robust environmental platform and the experience to get the job done. Her opponent, meanwhile, maintains one of the lowest environmental performances as ranked in our New York City Council Scorecard.

Dave Mejias is running for re-election to the Nassau County Legislature, representing the 14th District (Bethpage, Farmingdale, Levittown, North Massapequa, North Wantagh, Plainedge and South Farmingdale). Dave has a great environmental track record and is one of the shining pro-environment stars of the Legislature.

For each candidate, the PAC has reached out to a 5,000 household universe and is conducting follow up contact with 500 motivated voters between now and Election Day with two rounds of mail, email and telephone calls. Our universe is targeted to pro-environment voters, a significant voting block in each of these districts.
These efforts are made possible by your generous contributions to the Climate Action PAC, which funds campaigns that help elect pro-environment leaders. If you haven't contributed yet, please click here to help out.
Materna and Mejias are among the dozens of candidates NYLCV has endorsed for the general election. Check out the full list here and be sure to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
