Run-off election set for Tuesday, Sept. 29
NEW YORK --- On Tuesday, Sept. 29, there will be a runoff election for New York City Comptroller because none of the Democrats running garnered at least 40 percent of the vote, triggering the need for a new election between the first- and second-place finishers.
The New York League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Democrat David Yassky for the job and is urging you to vote for him in the run-off election.
With a long resume and proven track record, David is the clear environmental choice for Comptroller.
- In his two terms in the City Council, David sued ExxonMobil to spur the long-awaited cleanup of the nation's largest oil spill.
- He also championed legislation to offer homeowners incentives to install green roofs and reclaim our waterfronts for public recreation and parks.
- David has an exciting plan to make the Comptroller's Office a force for environmental progress. But we have to put him in office first.
