Who will get our support in New York City,
Westchester County and Long Island?
Local governments across the state are facing challenging times. On one hand, nearly every county, city, town and village is strapped for cash because of lagging tax revenues and a bearish labor market. On the other, voters are demanding greater environmental accountability from municipal governments on issues like energy efficiency, transportation, parks and waterfront access.
That's why electing leaders who see the connection between economic growth and sustainability is especially important this year - and that's one of the many qualities that the New York League of Conservation Voters is looking for this summer as we examine scores of candidates running for local office across the state.
NYLCV's political team has been working overtime in recent weeks to guide each candidate through a rigorous screening process. In the case of incumbents, that process starts with a thorough analysis of their voting records and budget priorities. For challengers, NYLCV looks closely at each candidates' achievements in their community and history of involvement in environmental advocacy.

Won't you help us add muscle to our eco-campaigns? The Climate Action PAC makes direct contributions to candidates and wages independent expenditure campaigns to help spread the word about pro-environment candidates. Don't complain about good candidates not making it into office - donate here to help make it happen.
