Black-tie event drew more than 500 guests
NYLCV Chair Bob Hallman, right, honors our 2009 Corporate Environmental Pioneer, Waste Management CEO David Steiner.The New York League of Conservation Voters celebrated its 20th anniversary on Thursday, May 28 with more than 500 guests in attendance.
The black-tie event was held at Chelsea Piers in New York City, and drew a diverse and influential crowd of corporate leaders, elected officials, advocates and other VIPs.
NYLCV gave special thanks to our Spring Gala Honoree, WNBC 4 and General Manager Tom O'Brien, and named Waste Management as our 2009 Corporate Environmental Pioneer. CEO David Steiner accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand delivered the keynote address, focusing on the interconnections between a sustainable economy and environmental sustainability.
