A voice for addressing New York's energy and environmental challenges
NEW YORK --- The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV), the political voice for New York's environmental community, today announced its endorsement of Richard Randazzo for state Assembly, underscoring the need for greater environmental advocacy in the Hudson Valley.
"Prompt action is required at every level of government to address the damaging effects of climate change," said Marcia Bystryn, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters. "We have confidence that Richard Randazzo understands the very real challenges we face and will consider the environmental impact of his policy positions. His earnest commitment to protecting the environment - both long- and short-term - earned our endorsement."
NYLCV, founded in 1989, is a nonpartisan, policymaking and political action organization. The group works closely with elected officials, decision-makers and voters to make environmental protection a top priority.
"With an energy crisis looming, and the effects of climate change posing a very serious threat to our environment, the time for action is now," Randazzo said. "I'll work together with the NYLCV to address mounting energy and environmental concerns and create real change in New York."
The 96th Assembly District is comprised of the Towns of Blooming Grove, Chester, Cornwall, Crawford, Highlands, Montgomery, New Windsor and Woodbury in Orange County and the Town of Stony Point in Rockland County.
