by Dan Higgins

The New York League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Republican Phil
Barrett for re-election as Clifton Park’s supervisor.

The non-partisan group has cited Barrett’s open space preservation program
and expansion of the town’s recycling program. It also praised a program in
which the town has purchased development rights from farmers, encouraging
the preservation of agricultural lands.

“Clifton Park’s environment has a strong ally in Supervisor Barrett,” said
Marcia Bystryn, the league’s executive director, in a press release.

Barrett’s response: “I am pleased to be recognized by the New York League of Conservation Voters as a leader in protecticng Clifton Park’s environment
and quality of life.”
