Urban Green Council - U.S. Green Building Council New York is proud to announce the first annual Urban Green EXPO, the Northeast region's premier educational green building conference and trade EXPO. Designed to meet the unique needs of the densely developed urban environment at a challenging economic moment, Urban Green EXPO will bring together building professionals for two days of top-level educational sessions, acclaimed speakers and green building tours.
EXPO
Urban Green EXPO will connect a wide variety of vetted green product manufacturers and service providers with facility managers, owner/operators and members of the architecture and design community.
In addition to traditional vendor booths, the Urban Green EXPO floor will feature a farmer's market - a real-life model of sustainability in action - as well as an aisle dedicated to Green Garage Inventors poised to bring new innovations to the marketplace.
EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE
With a new administration and financial environment, sweeping changes are expected to transform the regulatory and financial climate for green building. The Urban Green EXPO 2009 conference will explore the exciting opportunities and new challenges of this environment with a focus on those topics of most pressing concern to the densely developed Northeast region, including: affordable housing and social equity, retrofitting of existing buildings, and the built environment as an urban eco-system.
The program will feature a keynote address by a pioneer of the sustainability movement, an impressive roster of speakers from industry, government, and academia, and more than 30 individual educational sessions, off-site tours, and LEED Workshops.
