In conjunction with The Garden Club of America's 2013 Centennial Tree Project, Three Harbors, North Country, North Suffolk and South Side Garden Clubs have planned a lecture for Grace Auditorium at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

Dr. David Foster, Chairman of Highstead Foundation and Director of the Harvard Forest will be the guest speaker on a panel with four of his colleagues.

An article in The New York Times by Robert Sullivan titled "The Working Forest," was about Dr. Foster's research on forests and their management with real implications for the present and the future.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
