The Lower East Side Ecology Center, in collaboration with A Million Trees and Trees NY will show you how any New Yorker can care for their local street trees.  In this workshop, you will learn about the many benefits of trees, how they reduce air pollution, beautify neighborhoods and increase business.  We will demonstrate how to plant native species in tree pits for water retention and beautification, aerate a tree pit, apply compost, and how easy it is to order free street trees for your block!  

All participants in the Street Tree Care 101 workshops will receive a free street tree care kit and will be encouraged to adopt-a-block in their community.
