New Yorkers for Parks’ 8th Annual Parks Advocacy Day

This important event brings together park advocates from all five boroughs and New York City Council members to network with each other and advocate on behalf of the city's precious open spaces.

 Come speak out on behalf of your local parks, playgrounds, community gardens, and beaches!

Timeline for the Day:

8:30am - 9:15am Breakfast and networking

  • Talk one-on-one with your City Council Member and parks advocates about issues in your local parks, playgrounds, beaches and community gardens.
9:15am - 10:15am Panel discussion and Q&A
10:30 - 11:20am Breakout sessions
  • Park advocates will create action agendas around specific citywide issues.

11:30am - 12:00pm Concluding session

What's the most important citywide parks issue? The second part of Parks Advocacy Day 2010 will be composed of three concurrent breakout sessions based on different citywide parks issues. The goal of these sessions is to build cross-borough coalitions and an advocacy agenda around important park issues.
