The New York Metropolitan Transportation will be holding a public meeting regarding compliance with the Federal Highway Administration's mandates on long-term transportation infrastructure planning. Federal law demands all urban areas of greater than 50,000 people to have a dedicated planning committee, charged with coordinating and advancing area-wide transportation initiatives.

The Metropolitan Planning Organization is responsible for the City of New York as well as Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties.

The hearing will be held at Spector Hall, 22 Reade St. near City Hall.
