Meet the Westchester County Global Warming Task Force

Don't miss this exciting meeting of the Westchester County Global Warming Task Force at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

Meeting purposes:

  • Review Westchester County Global Warming Task Force plans.
  • Meet with U.S. Congressman John Hall to talk about local/national greenhouse gas emissions/sustainability issues.
  • Hear from/interact with a noted expert on global warming and sustainability initiatives.

Schedule and Agenda:

8:45 am

  • Registration and light "sustainable" breakfast & refreshments

9:30 am

  • Program starts promptly - facilitated by GWTF Co-Chair Reese Berman.
  • County Executive Andy Spano will offer welcoming comments.
  • Subject Committee Chairs will present progress reports (3-4 minutes each)

10:00 am

  • Congressman John Hall, 19th C.D., who represents the northern part of
  • Westchester and serves on the House Select Committee on Energy
  • Independence and Global Warming will offer comments and engage in a "town hall" type discussion with the Task Force. Initial questions will be asked by the Subject Committees.

11:00 am

  • John Cusack*, a recognized speaker and leader in sustainability initiatives will talk about innovative approaches he has witnessed/helped implement in the education, business and government sectors nationwide.

12 noon

  • Meeting will conclude with brief instructions on final Action Plan formulation and advance information about the October 10th major event.

*John Cusack is the Executive Director for the New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability, a director of the Presidents Climate Commitment (nationwide educational facilities), President of the Environmental Business Association of NYS, Inc., an Eastchester, NY resident and a former Tuckahoe Trustee.
