Building Blocks for an Energy Efficient Home

Co-hosted by: Debby Glasser of Houlihan Lawrence, Scarsdale Conservation Advisory Council and Hamlin Goldreyer Architects 

 Suggested donation at the door: $10 (net proceeds to be donated to Federated Conservationists of Westchester County). 

  Panel presentation on green home building, money-saving energy solutions, and government "green" tax incentives. Light refreshments will be served.

Speakers:  Judy Martin, founder & principal of Green Home Consulting, will share information about how to approach a renovation or new home building project with the goal of achieving a green home for the best price; discuss the key elements of energy efficiency and water conservation as well as available financial incentives from governmental agencies.

High Performance Insulation: Chris Puleo, Vice-President & Energy Consultant, Green Star Energy Solutions.

Geothermal Heating & Air Conditioning Systems: Bill Valus, Co-Owner of Encon, one of Westchester Co. & SW Connecticut's premier heating & air conditioning companies. A Mechanical Engineer with 22 years of HVAC design experience, Bill specializes in energy efficient systems, and is one of just a few engineers in this area that are certified in geothermal design.

Solar Energy: Anthony Conklin, Senior Solar Design Consultant and Professional Speaker for Mercury Solar Systems Inc. Anthony's focus is to help commercial & residential building owners implement the right solar energy system; reduce their electricity costs; make a positive impact to the environment; add value to their homes and business.
