"All Fracked Up" - Gas Drilling and Our Drinking Water

The Church in the Gardens Community House will show an hour-long documentary, "All Fracked Up" in Smith Hall on Sunday, October 24. A discussion will follow the film and admission is free. Hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking is the terrestrial version of deep-water drilling, but for natural gas. New York City's drinking water supply is located within the Marcellus Shale Formation upstate, which may be to natural gas what Saudi Arabia is to oil. Natural gas burns cleaner than oil or coal, but this new extraction method carries environmental risks. Please join us to learn about promise and perils.
