Stephen Levin

 Stephen Levin is running for election to the New York City Council District 33 (Brooklyn- Brooklyn Heights, Greenpoint, parts of Williamsburg, Park Slope, Beorum Hill).

First as an organizer at a non-profit organization and then as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Vito Lopez, Steve has worked hard for Brooklyn's environment.

  • Steve has worked with community residents to sue ExxonMobil for neglecting their responsibility to clean up the pollution they caused in the Newtown Creek many years ago.
  • Steve has worked with the Department of City Planning and Housing Preservation and Development on a comprehensive rezoning of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, bringing new developments into the context of the surrounding neighborhoods.
  • In the City Counci,l Steve will work to mandate that the MTA be more transparent and accountable to the public, while increasing City Council funding to help modernize our transit system.
