Dan Maffei

 Former Representative Dan Maffei, who represented New York's 24th congressional district from 2009-2011, is running to reclaim the seat he lost in a close election in 2010. During his term in Congress, Maffei voted for the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES), which would have reduced global warming pollution 17% from 2005 levels by 2020 and 83% by 2050, and created up to 2 million new clean economy jobs. Rep.

Maffei has a strong record of supporting fuel efficient vehicles, transportation and infrastructure improvements, high-speed rail, and clean energy technologies like wind and solar. He also voted to expand and protect scenic areas and national monuments.

Maffei earned an excellent 96% lifetime score on LCV's National Environmental Scorecard; in contrast, his opponent, incumbent Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle, received an abysmal 9% score on LCV's 2011 National Environmental Scorecard, the first year she was in Congress.
