Crystal Peoples Stokes has been a strong supporter of pro-environmental policy that simultaneously benefits western New York's economy. Relevant to NYLCV's priorities, she advocated for the passage of the Solar Industry and Jobs Act of 2012.

Additionally Peoples Stokes prime-sponsored laws such as the publication list of "high local environmental impact zones," by the D.E.C., the Permanent Environmental Justice Advisory Group within the D.E.C., and an Environmental Justice Interagency Coordinating Council.  Furthermore, as a strong sponsor of environmental and community health, Peoples Stokes has required state agencies to adopt and abide by effective environmental justice policies.
